When the "going gets tough" in your present college trajectory, what will you tell yourself to keep you going and focused?

The "going" has already gotten tough for me because of my extremely busy home life and the schedule my family has. However, so far, my kids have been my biggest encouragement. They keep checking on my progress every day much the same way that I check on theirs and they keep telling me that they're proud of me for going to school. It's been a big relief that they're so supportive when I'm blaming myself for making things difficult for the whole family. I suppose that the things that will keep me going are their encouragement and reminding myself that I'm going back to school not just to check off another goal on my list, but to make things better for my family in the long run.

Down the road I seem to already feel like things are going to get tough, I feel that if i already know its coming it wont be as bad as if it jumped up at me. I try to take each day at a time but when the going is and gets tough, im going to look at my future and where i was 6 years ago.........

"When the going gets tough...just keep going." That is what my swim coach used to tell me when I was in the middle of a hard set. I have taken this and used it towards my life. I know that it sounds a lot easier said than done. Even though I have faced some hardships, there will be more hardships. I just have to take things one at a time.

People rarely go to college for the instant fun and benefits of it; normally it is long term benefits, and that is the main thing to remember while enrolled in school. Some classes will be hard, some teachers won’t be the best and some circumstances may make staying in school difficult, but it is imperative to me to remember that long term benefits of being in school. Once I have the paperwork to back up my name and my skills, I have a much greater chance at receiving a good paying job or increasing my pay at my current job. I also receive personal pride for accomplishing such a great task. This may not help whatever current situation that I’m facing go away, but it does help me keep my eye on the prize and gives me more reason not to give up when times get rough.

I will tell myself that no matter how hard it gets to keep trying because you are setting an example for your children to never give up no matter what.

as once stated "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". well things have only began and has already started getting tough. not in the courses just yet, but in not being able to run a full days work like i'm use too. but hey i just need to learn to plan a little better and we'll see what happens.

To keep me going I will tell myself I have never completed anything and now is my chance. If my mother can do it so can I. If not for anyone or anything else do it for myself, so at the end of the road I can say I did it because of me; not because i had to or not because I was forced to. Last but certainly not least "I am paying for it."

When the going gets tuff during my college career I will tell myself to remember the big picture and what I am here for. A saying that I always thought was helpful during tuff times is That "this to shall pass" which means that it is not going to be tuff and hectic forever and sooner or later it has to get better.

Like I say "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" and a little extra time and effort never killed anyone. All my hard work will be worth it in the end.

well i live in newport news/hampton. get up at 5am to go run 2-3 miles in the navy. teach my students until 4PM. then i come to school until 10:30 and arrive home at 11:15. so it is very tough. but u must remember why you r in school and stay focused. think of where you came from? any thing worth having is worth working for.

When things are tough I will rely on faith and wisdom. Faith says that all things are possible. Wisdom says that there is a time and a place for all things. Which means if I am going through a trial then that is the time and place for me to flex my strengths that I have learned in life. Then with a mixture of faith I will encourage myself to stand tall and push for excellence.

I will tell myself that once I get out and get a good job I can afford all the things I wish I had now. I know that it is a fast paced learning atmosphere.I am ready to get out there and make the big bucks so i am glad that is such. I work and go to school now so it is deffinatly a change but change is good.

When it does get rough I will know one thing, I will survive. I'l just have to push through and try to get what I need to get done finished. If I am unable to, without me procrastinating as I am known to do, then I know I have truely tried, and maybe I need another round at that class.
